Alpha / Testnet — version 0.1
These are the working licensing terms for the mixmi alpha. They describe what each license type grants, what applies to every license, and how creators are paid. All payments during alpha use test USDC on testnet — no real money changes hands. These terms may be superseded by fuller Terms of Service.
Every license on mixmi is non-exclusive and grants a specific, limited use. No license transfers copyright or any ownership in the underlying work.
Grants the right to use the licensed work inside a remix created and published on mixmi. Priced per 8-bar block per source track. Your remix carries automatic IP attribution: the source creators' registered splits are recorded into the new work, and they receive 90% of the licensing fee. Remixes live on-platform; the remix license does not grant offline distribution of the source works.
Grants a personal-use copy of the work for download and listening. Price is set by the creator. It does not grant redistribution, resale, public performance, synchronization with video, or use in derivative works. Where a creator has offered source files for offline production use, that use is governed by the creator's stated terms on the offer.
Grants synchronization of the work with personal, non-commercial video. Price is set by the creator. Commercial sync use is not granted by this tier and requires contacting the creator.
Grants unlimited streaming of full songs for 24 hours from purchase. The pass expires automatically; pass revenue is distributed to the creators of the works you played, in proportion to plays.
Unless a term is stated on a specific offer, licenses are perpetual. Licenses granted before any change to a creator's offer remain valid under the terms in effect at purchase.
Creators may attach plain-language licensing notes to a work (for example: "vocals need attribution," "no use in advertising of any kind"). Where present, these notes are shown with the work and form part of the license terms for that work. If a creator's note conflicts with a tier's default grant, the more restrictive reading applies.
Some works are marked protected by their creators — often sacred, ceremonial, or culturally significant recordings. Protected works may be streamed, and downloaded where the creator offers downloads, but they may never be remixed, sampled, or used in collaborations or derivative works, regardless of any other license language. "Listening only — no remix or collaboration use."
